Colorado voters are poised to end the trophy hunting of mountain lions and fur-trapping of bobcats in November. Thanks to the Cats Aren't Trophies (CATs) initiative, Coloradans will most likely see Proposition 91 on the state ballot in November. Prop 91 is a historic measure that will usher in a new era of cougar protection in the state.

Join us for a special Living with Lions Webinar where Sam Miller, campaign manager for the CATs initiative, will be in conversation with Josh Rosenau, Director of Policy and Advocacy at the Mountain Lion Foundation. Sam and Josh will discuss the state of the Colorado campaign, what other states can learn from the campaign to increase protections for their lions, and what policy work for lions actually entails.

Samantha Miller serves as the Campaign Manager for Cats Aren’t Trophies (CATs). With a Master of Public Policy focusing on environmental issues, Samantha has dedicated her career to advocating for wildlife management reform across eleven Western states. Collaborating with the Endangered Species Coalition, Samantha co-authored "Wolf Conservation Planning: A Guide for Working Together Using Science, Inclusivity, and Ethical Practices." Her advocacy has been pivotal in banning spring bear hunting in Washington and coyote killing contests in Oregon.

Currently residing in Grand Lake, Colorado, Samantha enjoys life as a single mom to her six-year-old son, along with their two dogs, and two horses. She spends her spare time exploring the Colorado backcountry and volunteering with Rocky Mountain National Park Search and Rescue.
