Join us for a conversation with fellow cat lovers Brian Badger and Marcia Sivek from Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF). Gowan Batist, Coexistence Programs Manager for the Mountain Lion Foundation, will host Brian and Marcia for a discussion about coexistence as conservation for cougars in North America and cheetahs in sub-saharan Africa.

Brian Badger, Director of Conservation and Outreach, Cheetah Conservation Fund

After 3 decades in and around the conservation world and a passion that stretches back even further, Brian’s aim is to enlighten people from around the world on the workings, aims and goals of front line conservation.

Born and raised in London, UK. he’s worked on, coordinated and been involved with projects throughout Africa, Bangladesh, the Russian Far East, The USA and Europe.

Brian’s association with CCF stretches back around 18 years including working at the international headquarters in Namibia as Operations Manager for 6 years and Director of Conservation and Outreach for the past 8 years including managing the expansion/capacity building facility in Somaliland in 2019 and again in 2023.

With a speciality in holistic conservation, he’s a passionate advocate of the practices that embrace the balance of the ecosystem with the collaboration and success of all stakeholders.

A regular lecturer internationally to schools, colleges, universities, zoos, public events and has presented on TV and radio.

Brian Badger is a passionate speaker and drawing on his years of front line experience and collaborations with international conservationists, he is driven to enlighten and educate supporters, the public and the next generation of conservationists into the workings of successful conservation operations.

Marcia Sivek, Development Associate, Cheetah Conservation Fund

Marcia Sivek has been the Development Associate for the Cheetah Conservation Fund since December 2023. Her dedication to wildlife conservation began in 2017 when she started volunteering with CCF. Marcia is also the former host of BeProvided Conservation Radio podcast, where she raised awareness about conservation issues and highlighted efforts to protect endangered species.
