Hound Hunting: Impacts, Ethics & How You Can Help in Arizona
Tuesday, March 4 @ 5:30pm MT / 4:30pm PT
Join the Center for Biological Diversity, the Mountain Lion Foundation, and Wildlife for All for a timely webinar on the practice of hunting mammals with packs of dogs. Hear from members of a coalition that has submitted a petition to the Arizona Department of Game and Fish (AZGF) that seeks to ban the recreational use of packs of dogs to hunt or pursue mammals, including bears, mountain lions, coyotes, bobcats, and other small game and fur-bearing animals.
Arizona residents are especially encouraged to attend to learn how they can support the petition ahead of an AZGF Commission meeting in Phoenix in April.
Webinar topics will include:
- An introduction to the practice of hounding and its opposition to the hunting concept of "fair chase"
- Impacts of hounding to target species, humans, companion animals, non-target animals, threatened and endangered species
- The opposition's arguments and false claims about the benefits of hounding
- An introduction to the Arizona petition and how residents can help ban recreational hounding in their state
All registrants will receive a recording of the webinar. Please note that you will receive the Zoom link to join the webinar on the morning of the event.
If you would like to receive additional emails about this issue from the Mountain Lion Foundation and the Center for Biological Diversity, please opt-in here.
